Willebrant is the ambient field drone project of Naarm/Melbourne bassist and producer Karl Willebrant.
In 2020, Willebrant entered the home studio and delved into his love of ambient, emerging with a myriad of releases to critical acclaim, featuring collaborations with artists from Europe, The United States and Australia.
Willebrant creates immersive textures and emotive expanses that allow the listener to conceive a visual experience through the mind's eye, traversing soundscapes and drones utilizing bass guitars, found instruments, synths, and field recordings.
Willebrant’s music has appeared on Triple J “Something More” with Tim Shiel, KEXP “Pacific Notions” with DJ Alex and BBC Nights with Hannah Peel to name a few.
